The below steps should be followed to remove your current company mailbox from your Android device.
These steps should only be completed once your mailboxes has been migrated to Exchange Online.
Please note that the settings may vary slightly based on the version of Android Operating System and device manufacturer.
Removing your Microsoft Exchange mailbox
If you are using the built in Android Mail/Gmail App, please follow the below steps.
Note: You may have multiple email accounts on your device, so please make sure that you only delete the account associated with your company mailbox.
- Open your Android device’s Settings app (usually a gear icon).
- Scroll down and tap on Accounts (or Passwords & accounts, or Users & accounts, or Backup & Accounts, depending on your device manufacturer and Android version).
- You will see a list of accounts linked to your device. Tap on the Exchange account for your company email, tap Remove account (or Delete account) Note: This might be directly visible or under a More options menu (three vertical dots).
- Confirm the removal when prompted. You may need to enter your phone’s PIN or password.
If you are using the Microsoft Outlook app on your Apple device, then please follow the below steps..
- Open the Outlook app.
- On the Tools menu, click Accounts. The Accounts window opens.
- In the Accounts window, click the Exchange Account you want to delete, then click the minus sign (-) below. A Delete warning window opens.
- In the Delete warning window, click Delete to finish. You have successfully deleted your Exchange account.
Adding your Microsoft Exchange Online mailbox
If you are using the built in Android Mail/Gmail App, please follow the below steps.
- Open your device’s Settings app.
- Navigate to Accounts or Passwords & accounts > Add account.
- Select Exchange
- Enter your email address and password. Tap Next or Sign In.
- The device will attempt to find the server settings automatically.
- If successful, you may be asked to accept security prompts or select sync options (email, contacts, calendar).
- Grant any necessary security permissions or activate remote administration to allow your organization to enforce security policies (like a device PIN).
- Tap Next or Finish to complete the process.
If you are using the Microsoft Outlook app on your Android device, then please follow the below steps..
- Open the Outlook app
- Tap the Inbox at the top, then select the Settings icon (a gear).
- Tap Add Account and then Email Account.
- Type your full company email address and select Add Account.
- Enter your network password and tap Sign in.
- Answer “Yes” when prompted to allow the app to access your information.
- You may be given an option to add another account; select Maybe Later if you are finished.
- Grant permission to receive notifications from the app if desired.
